I’ve been on a reading spree lately and each book has been so wonderful and unique. Wanted to share my book list in case you’re on the hunt for some new reads.
Some of these were free on my Kindle and I also got a few from the Library’s online collection. Pro tip: if you read as voraciously as I do, get yourself a library card and enjoy free books. They’re delivered straight to your Kindle and they a returned automatically upon expiration.
My latest reads:
1. The Light We Lost by Jill Santopolo – This book is beautiful and heartbreaking all at once. It’s an epic love story spanning 15 years that begins on September 11, 2001. The back and forth in storytelling between the characters really captured me.
2. The Death of Mrs. Westaway by Ruth Ware – I love Ruth Ware’s books and this one definitely did not disappoint. It’s a mystery staring a young tarot card reader who lost her mother, but finds an unexpected inheritance and family as a result of a letter. A page turner.
3. Into the Water by Paula Hawkins – This is the author of Girl on the Train, which I loved. This is a mystery that features the voice of different characters telling their version of things, which then comes together in a well written and exciting never put down story. The ending was definitely a surprise.
4. Have you seen Luis Velez? by Catherine Ryan Hyde – This was a free Kindle read and was such a surprise. The two main characters are decades apart: a young teen boy and a blind woman in her late 80s. What develops is a beautiful friendship that tackles subjects from family and prejudice to kindness and friendship. A tear jerker worth a read.
Thanks Ivette! I tagged these in my online library account.
Let me know what you think if you read any of them!
