One of my very best girlfriends just turned the big 5-0 and to celebrate we planned a girls getaway for some R&R. We wanted a locale that wasn’t too far from home, but far enough for a change of scenery. Enter Chateau Elan, which is about an hour outside of Atlanta. It’s a Vineyard, Winery, Spa and Resort. Essentially you have everything you need to not ever leave.
The Accommodations
The property is undergoing a few renovations, so it’s only going to get better. We stayed at the Inn and the rooms were large and very comfortable.
We were greeted with a beautiful arrangement of cookies and a sampling of Chateau’s wine.
The double room was super spacious with a gorgeous view of the pool and a huge bathroom with a walk-in shower and tub.
I definitely want to return when the weather is pool perfect because the pool area was GORGEOUS.
The Spa
We booked a full spa day, which started upon arrival. While the spa is still undergoing some renovations (specifically to the locker rooms), it was super relaxing.
I traveled with four other girlfriends and we each selected different spa treatments from a range of massages to linen body wraps and a variety of facials. The ladies who had facials LOVED them, especially the Hydra-Facial. I booked a pre-natal massage, salt glow body scrub and a seasonal pedicure.
The massage was good, but the body scrub was the real highlight, leaving my entire body feeling baby soft. The seasonal pedicure was also a delight with all the products infused with nutmeg, cinnamon and other fall flavors.
Kate, my pedicurist, greeted me with an apple cider Mocktail and a chocolate cake pop. A true delight 🙂
Marc Restaurant & Bar
We ended the day with an incredible dinner at the newly renovated MARC restaurant.
Everything was delicious from the Charcuterie board and the Tiger Shrimp appetizers to the filets with sides. My filet was like butter topped with sautéed mushrooms and a side of whipped leek potatoes. The collards and baked potato were delicious as well as the broccolini.
While three of us had filets, the other two ladies enjoyed the salmon and scallops, which both looked delicious.
For dessert, we had the cheesecake and creme brûlée.
The Winery
Since I’m pregnant, I unfortunately did not indulge in the wine tasting. My friends did and loved the wine flight. For $40 you get seven wines. Overall the feedback on the wines was super positive with the Can Sav and Velvet blend rising to the top!
I did visit the vineyards, which were so beautiful. I would love to come back post baby with my hubby to enjoy a couples getaway and drink all the wine!
Happy Travels,
Ivette
